Insurance Company of Canada® provides unlimited
coverage for emergency medical expenses. This means that hospital,
doctor, prescription medication and other eligible emergency-related
expenses will be covered. We pay the cost of an ambulance
to get your customer to the hospital and will arrange to get
your customer home by air ambulance if medically necessary.

Insurance provides a choice of two medical-only
insurance plans, both with Single Trip and Annual options:
• Classic Medical (for for travellers under 60 years
of age)
• TravelCare® Medical (for travellers age 60 and
older)
Classic Medical
provides comprehensive emergency medical benefits for
travellers who are:
For the SINGLE TRIP option:
• under 60 years of age
• Travelling for 183 days or less.
For trips over 183 days, contact our sales office.
For the Multi-Trip ANNUAL MEDICAL option:
• under 60 years of age
• Travelling for a maximum of 9, 16, 30 or 60 consecutive
days per trip depending on the option purchased.
The traveller must also be a Canadian resident, and Purchase
the insurance before departure and for the full duration of
the trip.
Classic Medical covers the expenses for emergency
medical care. This insurance provides unlimited coverage for
emergency medical expenses incurred on a trip that exceed
the benefits provided by government health insurance plans.
There is no deductible when you have purchased Classic Medical.
Exclusion 1
applies to Classic Medical and excludes coverage for a medical
condition, any heart and/or lung condition (whether or not
the diagnosis has been made) if that medical condition or
any heart and/or any lung condition is not stable in the 90
days prior to departure.

TravelCare®
Medical Plans provide comprehensive emergency medical
benefits for people who are:
For the SINGLE TRIP option:
• 60 years of age or older
and traveling for 183 days or less.
For trips over 183 days, contact our sales office
For the Multi-Trip ANNUAL MEDICAL option:
• 60 years of age or older
and under 80 years of age, travelling for a maximum
of 9, 16, 30 or 60 consecutive days per trip depending on
the option purchased.
• 80 years of age or older,
travelling for a maximum of 9 or 16 consecutive days per trip
depending on the option purchased.
The traveller must also be a Canadian resident, and Purchase
the insurance before departure and for the full duration of
the trip.
You must complete a medical questionnaire.
Your answers will determine the TravelCare® plan for which
you qualify and the premium you pay.
TravelCare® Medical covers the expenses
for emergency medical care. This insurance provides unlimited
coverage for emergency medical expenses incurred on a trip
that exceeds the benefits provided by government health insurance
plans.
Our five TravelCare® Medical plans are:
• TravelCare®-HealthSelect®
• TravelCare®-Gold
• TravelCare®-Silver Plus
• TravelCare®-Silver
• TravelCare®-Bronze
Completion of our medical questionnaire is
required to determine the plan for which you qualify. Regardless
of the plan, you receive the same comprehensive benefits found

Deductibles:
• Optional deductibles of $200 US and $500 US are available
under all TravelCare® Medical plans except TravelCare®-Bronze.
• TravelCare®-Bronze applies a $200 US deductible
per claim.
Exclusions for
Pre-existing Medical Conditions
If you are eligible for and have purchased TravelCare®-HealthSelect®,
no exclusion related to any pre-existing medical condition
will apply. This allows customers who experience a change
in health after the purchase of their insurance and before
departure to maintain their travel coverage. This customer
is still, however, subject to all other general exclusions
outlined in the policy.
Exclusion 1
applies to TravelCare®-Gold and excludes coverage for
a medical condition, any heart and/or lung condition (whether
or not it has been diagnosed) if that medical condition or
any heart and/or any lung condition is not stable in the 90
days prior to departure.
Exclusion 2
applies to TravelCare®-Silver Plus and excludes coverage
for a medical condition, any heart and/or lung condition (whether
or not it has been diagnosed) if that medical condition or
any heart and/or any lung condition is not stable in the 180
days prior to departure.
Exclusion 3
applies to TravelCare®-Silver and excludes coverage for
a medical condition, any heart and/or lung condition (whether
or not it has been diagnosed) if that medical condition or
any heart and/or any lung condition is not stable in the 180
days prior to departure. In addition, TravelCare®-Bronze
applies a $200 US deductible per claim.
